Yay! I got to come BACK to the gorgeous Morris Estate in Niles, Michigan. The trees and woods along the river here are totally majestic! AND, if the wind blows just right, you get a little twist of Lavendar from the Lavendar Hill Farm that is right around the corner. If you’ve not found this hidden gem in Michigan, click here + plan your trip!
I’m just so grateful (once again) that Kayla + Spencer – connected with me + chose me to document their marriage! Even better, they found be early on in their planning process. Which is also amazing, because we were able to do TWO amazing sessions on the Notre Dame campus before their wedding in South Bend – last November. One of those sessions, as you’ll remember – included a glitter explosion. * hint* you can still find that entire session on my blog! 😀
Best cake-topper, EVER?! Definitely one of them!
See how incredibly classy Kayla is? Zac Posen’s, a beautiful Coach parfúm and this insanely timeless + gorgeous cap-sleeve gown. She looked flawless + stunning on her wedding day. But most of all, so, so, COMFORTABLE.
Eventually the “butterflies” come around + I KNOW how the nervousness can creep up.. But this bride totally handled the pre-ceremony jitters with might + courageousness!
Emily, David and I (along with Bri) met in Hartford, Michigan at David’s family’s home – for our engagement session. Also the location for their wedding later this year. The property feels like it has so much history and has THE perfect backyard for hosting an outdoor wedding! I’m so excited to drive back and document their sweet little story. Stay in touch for updates and highlights!
I traveled about 1:30 hours away to Howe, Indiana. Thru Amish country! It was an amazing drive thru the country to the Mason’s home. Although, I would probably consider it a small farm. It was absolutely majestic.
They tied the knot right alongside the creek George (groom), spent his entire childhood playing in. It was an incredibly balmy, warm, summer day – that led to the most perfect evening. I finished my documentation just as the sun was going down.
Thanks so much again Cristina + George, for choosing me to document your marriage.
So, although I consider myself a “home-based” South Bend wedding photographer – I travel ALL over Michiana and the Midwest. The O’Dell wedding was my third time shooting at the Spohn Ballroom this wedding season. : )
Each time I visit this huge building right in the middle of Downtown Goshen, Indiana – I become a little more enamored. “She” woo-s me in with her early 20th century architecture. This stunning ballroom has recently been remodeled however, they’ve stayed totally true to the character of the building. If you are in The Bend (or surrounding areas), you MUST stop off in Goshen this summer!
A big thank you to the Mast & O’Dell families for making my day so wonderful and being so accommodating! I am so thankful to have met you all; thank you for sharing your story with me!
First photos as Mr. & Mrs. O’Dell!! : )
The blushing bride & soon to be pediatrician, Kelly!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Much love & inspiration,
Alexis called me frantic! They desperately needed a wedding photographer last-minute, to document their (EXCEPTIONALLY) beautiful wedding planned in Montverde, Florida at the Bella Collina Resort. I obviously accepted this invitation, rather quickly, without almost any reservation (luckily I had an opening in my schedule). Long story short — Alexis and Andrew FLEW me to Tampa, Florida for the weekend and I had the time of my life! : )
I flew out of Chicago O’Hare – on an incredibly frigid day, right before one of the biggest snow storms of the season (yay, I missed that one). I made a short trip to Tampa – stayed the night – and got up bright and early for a trek to Montverde, Florida. I am being completely honest when I tell you… aside from the Cayman Islands (maybe I’m a little bias on this one)… Bella Collina and the land that it sits on, is the most beautiful place I’ve ever laid eyes on. No lie. It’s a mini Napa Valley. It’s lush, lush, hills and vineyards. It’s storybook CLOUDS (scroll down for the CLOUDS), fountains on fountains, stone, fireplaces, wood. It was total paradise. I was, and still, am in awe.
I was equally impressed with the staff, they totally took care of me and made me feel right at home. They were totally proficient + professional and it was totally an honor!
Thank you again to The Callum’s. I’m almost speechless, but I’m completely grateful for your generosity and entrusting me with your memories.
