I prefer to let portrait sessions happen naturally, and I adopt the approach: “go-with-the-flow”. The Schwalbe family + I met in Mishawaka and had a completely authentic, expressive, portrait session. We had drizzles on the way in, but a luminous, green shooting space indoors at the Potawatomi Conservatory! Our session ended with yummy homemade brownies. These brownies also included a surprise: they were made with PUMPKIN + had almonds. And, YES! They did bring extra for me. : )
Thank you to The Schwalbe’s! A really loving, carefree, beautiful, big fam that I feel honored to have met.
The Madsley family invited me out to their cabin on the lake in Union Pier, Michigan – to document a few hours of family bonding. We also took a walk down to the boardwalk. Which just so happened to have the most beautiful light!
Mom makes everything better. : )
Thank you for sharing your love with me!
I was lucky enough to catch-up with this amazing family of “jetsetters” during the fall! We met at their rental in Union Pier, Three Oaks, Michigan – in the quietest little section of the woods (my favorite). Then we made a short trek to the annual fall festival at Dinges’ Farms! Swoon. I love fall and it’s always gone way to soon. . . I loved the session especially because these clients, feel like family. And – it is always a treat when you get to include a few generations during a portrait session. : )
Until I became a Hoosier (by marriage), I had NO idea so many gourds existed.
I documented a “25 years of marriage” celebration – for the Huerta’s. We did this entire session through an actual translator (on-site). I cannot even describe to you how special this day was for me, so I’m sharing photos instead!
They felt like family to me; I hope that you will feel their love.
So, although I consider myself a “home-based” South Bend wedding photographer – I travel ALL over Michiana and the Midwest. The O’Dell wedding was my third time shooting at the Spohn Ballroom this wedding season. : )
Each time I visit this huge building right in the middle of Downtown Goshen, Indiana – I become a little more enamored. “She” woo-s me in with her early 20th century architecture. This stunning ballroom has recently been remodeled however, they’ve stayed totally true to the character of the building. If you are in The Bend (or surrounding areas), you MUST stop off in Goshen this summer!
A big thank you to the Mast & O’Dell families for making my day so wonderful and being so accommodating! I am so thankful to have met you all; thank you for sharing your story with me!
First photos as Mr. & Mrs. O’Dell!! : )
The blushing bride & soon to be pediatrician, Kelly!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Much love & inspiration,
